I wouldn’t have thought Esquire and Cracked had a lot in common, but the former’s website has a very Cracked-like article detailing the five worst fight scenes ever filmed, complete with YouTube clips. It’s worth a read. Of course, they’re all awful, but then again, they’re all awesome if you like awful things. (I actually wrote about one of their selections last year.)
As a bonus, here’s another clip from The Story of Ricky, one of the movies cited in the Esquire piece. It’s about the most ridiculously gory thing I’ve seen since I watched the video of my nephew’s birth the scene with the lawnmower and the zombies in Peter Jackson’s Dead Alive.*
* Side note about Dead Alive. I used to work with a guy from New Zealand who went on and on about how much I had to see this zombie movie called Braindead. It couldn’t possibly compare to the infinitely superior Dead Alive, I argued. Only much later did we realize that we were in fact talking about the same movie. How we managed to have such a lengthy argument without actually describing enough of the movie’s plot to realize we were talking about the same thing, I don’t know, though I really didn’t know what he was talking about a lot of the time anyway, thanks to his close-mouthed mumble and unintelligible accent.
