“Hey, where’s Eva’s candy dish?”

“Gone.”

“Oh. Where’s Eva?”

“Gone.”

Gone gone?”

“Just the rest of the week. She’s having back problems.”

“Okay, she’ll be back, then?”

“Yes.”

“And there’ll be more candy?”

“Yes.”

“Good.”

    Let us just hope that cutting out candy is not a part of her doctor-ordered back-healing regimen.

    Whenever our receptionist is sick, we don’t get company-paid-for gum because she hides it and no-one else knows where her stash is. She’s probably selling it off, piece by piece, to schoolkids in dank alleys.
