A Chicken with Its Head Cut/Off

I’ve listened to the Magnetic Fields’ 69 Love Songs countless times without realizing that the accordionist on that album, Daniel Handler, is also known as Lemony Snicket, the author of the A Series of Unfortunate Events books. Now I’m starting to wonder if the John Woo who plays banjo and guitar for the Magnetic Fields is one and the same as the Chinese film director known for The Killer, Hard Boiled, and Face/Off. When I saw them in concert, he did come onstage by sliding in on a skidding motorcycle and firing a Beretta 92F/FS in each hand while doves flew everywhere, so it would make sense.
